Welcome to Branson, Missouri!
Branson Missouri is a cannot miss if you are headed to Missouri, either for business or pleasure, make sure to visit Branson, the Country Music Capital of the Midwest - Branson, MO.
Branson, Missouri got its name after Rueben Branson. The history of the city can be traced way back in the 1880s when Mr. Branson opened a post office and a general store in the area. During those times, Branson was like any other ordinary small cities and tourists were found elsewhere.
That changed in 1894 when a man, by the name of William Henry Lynch, purchased the Marvel Cave just outside Branson and began attracting visitors. When Harold Bell Wright was named national bestseller for his book The Shepherd of the Hills, which was set in Branson, more visitors went to the city to see what the buzz was all about.
After that, there is no stopping Branson, Missouri. The city was formally established in 1912. The following years had been fun and exciting both to the locals and the tourists. More and more residents tried their hands in getting the tourists’ eyes. Take Steve Miller as an example. The artist designed a Nativity scene at the top of Mount Branson, which overlooked Lake Taneycomo, in 1949. The scene was so impressive that, by 1953, the Chamber of Commerce started hosting an Adoration Parade which became a tradition religiously followed until today.
